  I hardly ever review anything online, but my two experiences at the Williams Road UB Orthopedics office were so unpleasant that I can't help myself. During each visit, the receptionist was rude and condescending, and is clearly not a happy person who should be in a customer service role. I had an appointment with Tara Richards, a physician's assistant, for shin splints that I've had for four years. The first appointment lasted no more than five minutes. I had questions about shin splints: why they occur, what can be done to prevent them, do they cause long-term damage, etc. But Tara seemed like she was in a hurry. I figured that maybe it was a busy day, and I knew I'd see her again, so no big deal. My next appointment -- and I'm not exaggerating here -- lasted less than two minutes. She looked at my test results and referred me to another doctor. Again, I've had this problem for four years and was looking forward to getting information from a trained professional, but Tara hardly made eye contact with me as she looked at my test results, and didn't show the slightest concern or curiosity with my condition. She did ask if I had any questions, but her foot was practically out the door and her icy demeanor made the whole doctor-patient experience uncomfortable. On the way out, the receptionist scolded me for trying to talk to her assistant. (This review is not meant to be a reflection of UBMD orthopedics as a whole, just this particular facility at the Summit Healthplex.)
